SEPT 24-26 Tennessee Section Championship / TN

Tim, Lynn, Bill, Elizabeth, Brad and the crew are doing it again. This has been one of my favorite matches for a number of years. Good stages, great staff, good range, good times. I missed it for a couple years due to scheduling conflicts but I made it back last year and will make it this year also. Looking forward to it.

SEPT 17-19 Florida State USPSA Championship / FL

Rick Arnold and his crew from Central Florida Rifle and Pistol in Orlando, FL have stepped up to run the FL State match this year. Big props to them for taking on the challenge, it was looking for a minute like there might not be a state match. We were working on back up plans but all is solved now. Our local club WAC is building and manning three stages for them, I’ll be shooting on Friday to defend my title and then working as RO on Saturday and Sunday. If you’re at the match be sure and say hi.

They don’t have a website for the match as far as I know. You can get an application from the WAC website linked above. Should be a fun match, if you’re on the fence GO SIGN UP!!!

AUG 5-7       East Coast IDPA Championship / N.C.

Don’t know a whole heck of a lot about this match but I wanted to pick up at least one other IDPA match this year and I’m not going to make the IDPA nationals so this one looked as good as any. Some friends wanted to go also so we’ll see what its all about. I’ll have a report in a couple weeks.

JULY 17-18          PRO-AM / Tulsa, OK

Once again Phil Strader is putting on the Pro Am at the US Shooting Academy in Tulsa, OK. One of my new favorite matches of the year. The format is pretty simple, a ton of falling steel targets in a field course. Whoever knocks down the most in a given amount of time wins. The Pro’s shoot a ‘skins’ style match with stage money for each stage. Two tie, all tie and the money carries over to the next stage. Looking forward to it and to bringing home some cash!
